The file settings
A plan evolves: the bank asks for five years instead of three, the incorporation slips by a month. The file settings can be changed without recreating the file, and Fiplan announces what a reduction would leave outside the plan.
What it is for
The file's menu offers Dossier Settings. The window takes over the choices made at creation: the Dossier name, the Dossier Type, the Start Date, the Duration, the First exercise duration (from 1 to 24 months, with its closing date), the Reference Year (N-1), the Report Language, the report template, and the Deadline with its description — for example the handover to the notary or a meeting at the bank.
Existing entries are kept; the new periods are empty and ready to be filled in.
Steps
- Open the file, then its menu, and choose Dossier Settings.
- Change what needs to be changed.
- Click Save. If the new duration leaves amounts after the new end of the plan, Fiplan says so first, and you confirm or cancel.

Worked example · Boulangerie Dupont SRL
The bakery's plan covers three financial years, up to December 2029. If the duration is cut to two years, the new end falls in December 2028: Fiplan announces 84 amounts entered after that date, the last one in December 2029.
These amounts are not deleted: they leave the plan, and come back into it if the duration is lengthened.
| Type of file | Duration allowed |
|---|---|
| Incorporation | from 2 to 15 years |
| Existing company or other purpose | from 1 to 15 years |
